DOWNTOWN SOULVILLE is an irregular northern soul night at the legendary and atmospheric Old Nun's Head pub, SE15. Each time, regulars Jake Lingwood, Ollie Lailey and Joel Maslin are joined by great guest DJs playing the full range of northern soul, R&B and funk. In March 2012 IAN JACKSON guested, and played a superb uptempo set of northern/sixties soul. More often known for his residency at Blow Up these days, Ian was an inspiration for us when we were young mods in the 80s and one of the first people we heard play proper northern. So it was brilliant to have him on, doing his thing just like he used to -- and here, for a real treat, is his whole set for you.
