Godfather's of San Franciscan 'Freak Beat', 'High Energy Rock N Roll' and Proto-Punk, the Groovies wrote the 1st song about sniffin' glue. In their early heyday they made 4 influential albums, and a clutch of top singles; namely Sneakers (1968), Supersnazz (1969), Flamingo (1970), and Teenage Head (1971); and the seminal EP Slow Death (1972). They are cited by the Rolling Stones, The Cramps, and The Dead Kennedys.
