Feature film director Ben Wheatley discusses Down Terrace, his award winning debut feature film with Henry Scott-Irvine. Down Terrace opens on July 30th at London's ICA Cinema in the Mall. Ben Wheatley previously directed BBC TV's 'Ideal' and 'Wrong Door'. Down Terrace (which he co-wrote) won the 'Next Wave Best Feature' at Austin's Fantastic Festival in 2009; 'Best UK Feature' and 'The Raindance Award' at the Raindance Festival, London, in 2009; and The Grand Jury’s 'Narrative Feature' prize at the International Feature Film Festival in Boston 2010. Last week's Sunday Times described it as' 'The Daddy of All Gangster Films'. Empire Online described it as, 'Surreal and sinister. A splendid exercise in anti-social realism'.
