SoulSistas And SoulBruthas! Hope everyone had a great New Year! Thought I'd get 2013 started with sharing some of the latest digging finds. Some wonderfully interesting records, with a few you might know. The first half of the mix are some album cuts, getting things poppin' with a cool tune from a South African singer named Letta that I was unfamiliar with. Zulema does Marvin's, "If This World Were Mine" superbly. An unbelievably monster jam from sax player, Joe Farrell called, "Upon This Rock." The second half, mainly 45's highlighted by one I've been searching for, it seems like forever, Betty Harris' "There's A Break In The Road." A few of the 45's are a bit noisy, but I couldn't resist putting them in your ears just cause the music is so damn great. Rounding out the set is Soul Sista #1...Marva Whitney. Sadly, Marva died a few weeks ago and I was lucky to run across her 45 soon after.
Hope you DIG and I catcha on the FLIP! Peace and SOUL, HSB Dave B... Uploaded 4 months ago - Featuring tracks by Sir Wales Wallace, Archie Whitewater, Merry Clayton, Betty Harris, Joe Farell and more ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Show more | ![]() |
