SoulSistas And SoulBruthas! Was going through the archives and found this selection I did way back in 2007 for my good friend Cpt.Stax. His radio show on http://www.ModRadiouk.net is a weekly must listen. I was privileged to be asked on, and this was my first appearance. It's a batch of tunes I no doubt was completely digging at the time. Most especially, Marie Knight's "Cry Me A River," which I've not played since, I think. Joey Gilmore's "Somebody Done Took My Baby And Gone" just kills. When I put this together and listened to it again, whew, they're some scorchers in there. Filled with BIG SOUL and still sounds so, SO good.
