Welcome to Chicago EP is the presentation of what will be later released as an LP called Urban Concepts.

This EP is a tribute to blues. Chicago, the “Windy City” is the most important point of reference when talking about blues. But its influence does not end with this style, rock n roll, funky, soul, jazz and even hip-hop are a significant part of the urban musical culture of this city. This mixing of cultural and musical trends is clearly reflected in the album Urban Concepts.

While recording, several guitars were used, two Fender (Stratocaster American standard and Stratocaster american vintage commemorative 1957) and one Gibson (Les Paul American standard). The amplifiers used were Marshall plexi 1959 slp, Mesa Boogie Lonestar and Vox ac30. Samples and different effects (fuzz, reverb, echo, etc... ) were made with a Korg Electribe SX. All the tracks were recorded and self edited in a home studio.

Last week I prayed to the Gods for better weather with the Sun Special, and obviously they listened, so to thanks those mofos and for you of course, here's one hour of vintage beach music, have a good one!

Ronnie Golden aka Tony De Meur was in the post punk band The Fabulous Poodles. They did lots of TV, had hits, and supported The Ramones and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on tours in The USA. They outsold the Clash both in terms of tickets sales and albums (at the time). Ronnie later played with The Comic Strip comedians in London's Soho in the early 1980's and appeared on The Young Ones series on BBCTV as an upsidedown Buddy Holly. He went on to work with Arthur Smith, Barry Cryer and Rich Hall. Catch him in London in June and July (with Barry Cryer in Ruislip) and at The Edinburgh Festival in August. Suicide by Suicide! In the early 70's Suicide burst onto to New York's underground music scene performing their unique brand of 'Instrument' and 'Vocal'. The duo comprised of musician and keyboard player Martin Rev, alongside performance artist/vocalist Alan Vega. Suicide's early shows at the Mercer Arts Centre, Max's Kansas City, and CBGB's attracted the attention of both Glam Rock aficionados and the New Wave's burgeoning New Wave/Punk Rock clientèle alike. Press adulation led to their receiving a support slot on the Clash's 'Give Em Enough Rope' UK tour of 1979. It was here that their eponymous début was performed to a large audience for the very first time. Last year Iggy & The Stooges 'Raw Power' gigs at London's Hammersmith Apollo featured Suicide as chosen 'guests' of The Stooges on May 2nd and May 3rd 2010 where they performed their début album twice more. Starting with The Paramounts, Legend, Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Dr Feelgood, The Kursaal Flyers, Eddie & The Hot Rods, Mickey Jupp, and Wilko Johnson. 20 key songs from this first 25 years of Southend Rock help to provide us with a soundtrack to a past era. Many of these artists continue perform to this very day, but rarely!
