Dedicated to Doc Watson (One of the People): March 3, 1923 – May 29, 2012
Some tracks were recorded live and many are from the Appalachian region. There are some lesser known tracks that many will not have heard before such as those recorded during the 37th Old Time Fiddler’s Convention at Union Grove North Carolina which were recorded in 1961 by Mike Seeger (The Brushy Mountain Boys / Red Parham and the Haywood County Ramblers) as well as Roscoe Holcomb (1912 – 1981) and Vester Jones of Grayson County, Virginia. Many can be found on Smithsonian Folkways. Others were influenced by Doc Watson or the music from the Appalachian region such as Martin Simpson, Sam Amidon and Tim Eriksen. www.folkradio.co.ukUploaded 11 months ago - Featuring tracks by The Brushy Mountain Boys, Doc Watson, Roscoe Holcomb, Dock Boggs, John Sebastian and the J Band with Geoff Muldaur and more ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Listeners also enjoyedEnjoying Mixcloud?Join with Facebook Do you like us? |
