After Nitro Deluxe died* I listened back to some of his classic work. His track Hypno House started off a mix collecting some of the bleep & deep hypnotic house classics, acid house, balearic, rave and early jungle/breaks - all in service of the mighty bleep.
There was a brief period in dance, a sort of crossroads roughly between 1988 & 1992 where the balearic 'anything goes' idea fed back into British dancefloors & pirate radio, and all sorts of genres met at the bleep. Balearic dreamy soundscapes, hypno house & bleep house, what later became called IDM (Warp), pure trance, acid, early jungle & dark rave, breaks, techno, late EBM, europop & industrial all reported to the dance floor - and set the standard for the rest of the decade (or two). This mix is about that junction, before the children of house went their own ways.
