Milk Maid – latest addition to Fatcat Records has compiled Fatcat Podcast #38. Ahead of the release of their debut album ‘Yucca’, to be released 20 June (UK/Europe), and 19 July (US) 2011, here is an hour long collection of tracks chosen by Martin Cohen – Milk Maid songwriter.
In his own words: “This is a bunch of stuff I've been listening to for the past 12 months... and some I've not listened to for ages. Most of it's from America and most of it has guitars. Two tracks are from my favourite albums of 2010 (Darker My Love and Women). One song got me into The Lemonheads (Rancho Santa Fe) and one song makes me want to quit writing songs (Morpha Too). I've probably only seen about a third of these bands live. I saw Come last year and had the bass amp pointed at my face for the entire gig so it sucked, plus they didn't play Mercury Falls...it's ace. I'm not sure if I want Milk Maid to sound like a mix of all this stuff or not......I think I just want to sound like Morpha Too.
