Here is another attempt to make a music mix. I tried to throw in the most pop-oriented songs I got! Starting with British twee folk pop Lulu and the Lampshades and one of my favourite songs from Woods, some of the latest avant garde pop songs are played from the likes of Panda Bear, Washed Out and Wild Nothing. Followed by gothic pop of last years stellar LP The Spoils from Zola Jesus, played back to back with Katie Stelmanis, who could be one of the discoveries for next year! For those who got enough of too polished sounds (ok I guess none of the tracks are in risk to be labeled polished), it goes over to some quirky fuzzy lo-fi garage pop from Internet Forever, Times New Viking and Best Coast.
I couldn't resist to play a Moon Duo song - and this one is probably the poppiest Moon Duo song in history! You can find that one on the excellent Woodsist Compilation Away From Home / Digging the Universe. Ending with guaranteed soon-to-be-sky-rocketing Brighton duo Esben and the Witch.
