And we're back! Apologies for the music repeat show last week. A 24 hour virus invaded the house and podcast duties had to be set aside for parental duties for at least a day. The slightly annoying thing was that after I had that massive cold and sore throat a couple of weeks back, I decided to record an "emergency show". This is something I did last year with a couple of shows with tracks from K Records and Kill Rock Stars. Those shows were kicking about for ages before I pulled them into service, but this time I've used my backup show straight away!

Anyway, there's a bunch of new music on today's show. Well, newish, because it's by and large the playlist from last week's show. As a result, if you keep up to date with other Scottish blogs or podcast, you've probably already heard most of these before. I don't care. I like them, so I'm playing them.

It's all good, Kirkcaldy is pretty hit 'n miss when it comes to live Music (a Microcosm of Fife in many ways), there are little springs of talent that well up, from time to time (Fence being a perfect talent); but considering it's population and landmass (potentially what holds it back in terms of a gig scene) it doesn't produce enough diversity or consistency in it's musical output. H!

I stand corrected. I didn't mean to offend (if I did) the brain just seems to throw out random words sometimes. My only experiences being "out on the town" in Kirkcaldy were quite some time ago...

And I'm not quite sure why I made the comment about Fife bands, since I'm a big fan of Fence. You know, being raised in Southern Fife anything further East of Kirkcaldy was a sort of bandlands never ventured to, so I often don't seem to think of it as Fife. The ironic thing is that it's arguably the nicest area.

Now't wrong with the Path Tavern (not a particularly rough bar; by Fife Standards anyway), there's been some good gigs there over the years(was free to put on gigs) but under new-management now, so one less live venue...some decent current Fife acts to check; Thomas Bird and the Blonde Spirit, Tango in the Attic, Blue Gold and Beyond the Mask
