A downtempo expansive cosmic disco type mix, which lasts an hour. Not much here is 'dancey'.

The track by The Three Corners of the Earth is a recent favourite and featured on a trailer for a snowboarding dvd called "Art of Flight". I extended it a bit as i felt the original was slightly too short, and had an abrupt ending, so i smoothed it out a bit for the premises of this mix.

Recommended (newer stuff): Emperor Machine, Gavin Russom's various bands, Syclops, Ichisan, Antoni Maiovvi, Prins Thomas & Lindstrom (not /that/ keen on their respective solo stuff though, but it won't hurt for you to check them both out :) ), Roland Sebastian Faber, Mogg & Naudascher, Altair Nouveau, Sare Havlicek, Black Van, Diskjokke, Mungolian Jetset, Space Ranger, Ray Mang. The DFA and Permanent Vacation Samplers and the Future Disco and Nang presents Array series of comps might be good places to start.

Yeah, time ... what's that ? ;) Sure, if you can point me in a few directions that'd be great :) I'm always looking out for the not-so-well-known gems. I'm a bit familiar with the old '70s and '80s synth-pop (you know Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Giorgio Moroder, Propaganda, Space), but kinda in the dark with the newer stuff :/ :) Anyway cool stuff!

Reading lots of blogs (i'll send you a list of some of them if you like), spending more time than is probably healthy on Beatport and Juno and occasionally youtube, some of it's from Beats in Space sets. :) There's a few of these which I got on label specific compilations (love love love might have been on a nang or future disco comp from a couple of years ago) or because of who remixed them (free flight and dystopia) without checking them out first. The Brassica track was a find during an otherwise dull evening spent raking through youtube when i had the flu.
