The very first episode of my monthly funk and soul radio show on Funk Republic Radio! Dedicated to to the funk and soul-inflected cuts I rate from past and present - the show is about tying together past and present quality music from within the genre.

In this episode, I introduce the premise of the show and showcase the variety of funk that kicked off my career DJing and stuff I just happen to dig right now!

Originally recorded on Thursday 3rd of May, this show was put together before the tragic passing of Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys. Retrospectively, "Root Down" by Jimmy Smith is dedicated to his memory.
