„Downtown Science“, which was released as a promo cd in 2004, features a couple of my favourite independent hip-hop tracks out of that time. It includes tracks by Edan, Eyedea & Abilities, Jazz Liberatorz and Ozomatli, to name a few. Part I of the mix got a smooth party-like vibe and ends up with some faster and funkier songs. Part II is a slower mix and more on the “abstract” type of things, mostly incorporating tunes from the west coast indie scence such as A.T.U.’s classic “My Experience” and Self Jupiter’s “Mayday”.
This is one of my more straight hip hop mixes, it starts with a nice intro and additionally features some scratch parts by my friend DJ Backdraft. The mix was done to get dj gigs in my hometown of munich and therefore only about 30-50 cd-r copies have originally been given away for promotional use.
