Jes-One has been an innovator for the Midwest dance scene for over 20 years. From humble beginnings in Rockford,-Chicago Illinois in 1989, he quickly catapulted his career by djing nationwide and appearing on many radio stations both for underground radio and commercial radio. Nightclubs, festivals, and raves all became accustomed to his signature sound of groovin’ house and banging techno throughout the 90’s. During this time he opened one of the longest and most well known record stores, The Groove Shop. The Groove Shop became a legend for being “the spot” for djs and producers to drop their mixtapes, showcase their latest releases, and network with industry for many years. As the years rolled on, Jes picked up awards for “Best DJ” category three years in a row at the RAMI Music Awards. It was also during this time in his career that he became sponsored by Shure Needles. His layering of vocals, beats, and turntablism gained him great fame as a Midwest dominator.
