Clement Dodd, Duke Reid and Lee Perry are three individuals who feature prominently during this mix. Alone they were pioneers in engineering and prolific producers, but together they were responsible for a significant percentage of all the good music that was coming from Jamaica during the late 1960's.
Most of this compilation comprises of soulful uplifting songs about love, but we did include a few tunes that are slightly more politically charged, a sign of things that followed, in the 1970's, with a shift towards the Rastafari movement, within some of the studios that were managed by the afore mentioned gentlemen... but more about that next time.
