Strictly Rhythm DJ Mix Contest

The Grand Daddy of House Music, Strictly Rhythm, has teamed up with Native Instruments and Dolphin Music to offer an open invitation to DJs of all levels to step up and show what they can do by mixing their choice of tracks from the Strictly Rhythm catalogue. The winner will have his or her mix featured on the Strictly Rhythm podcast and be presented with NI Traktor Scratch Pro 2 and Traktor Kontrol X1 (plus branded Bag) and £500 in vouchers to spend with Dolphin Music. Strictly Rhythm is a leading house label and purveyor of quality house music, so naturally there’s a choice of some huge tracks from the likes of:

DJ Pierre, Josh Wink, Todd Terry, George Morel, Armand Van Helden, Hardrive, Ultra Nate, Sandy Rivera, John Dahlback, Ben Westbeech, Ramon Tapia, Quentin Harris, Kenny Dope, Terry Hunter Erick Morillo, Daniel Bovie, Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero, Jose Nunez & loads more

Instructions

  • Create a 30 min mix of your just favourite Strictly Rhythm tracks, old and new
  • All the tracks must be from the Strictly Rhythm back catalogue (if your unsure check the discography here)
  • Name your Cloudcast "Strictly Rhythm DJ Mix Contest"
  • Upload it directly to Mixcloud and tag the mix "Strictly Rhythm DJ Contest" - be sure to tag it correctly, otherwise it won't be listed in the competition
  • Attach the following artwork to your mix - click here to download

Judging

  • Cloudcasts will be judged by Strictly Rhythm based on a mixture of their musical merit, selection, DJ skills, number of plays and number of favourites
  • Any entries featuring tracks that are not from Strictly Rhythm will not be considered

Deadline

  • The competition will be closed for submissions on July 18th. Please note that the earlier you submit your entry the higher your chances to make it in the list of finalists so don't wait till the last moment!
  • Winners will be announced on July 25th
