For the past 20 years Dazed & Confused have been championing mixes from the world's most exciting new artists, producers, labels and DJs. In the past month alone we have featured selections from Chicago house head Tevo Howard, the intergalactic sounds of Brainfeeder records and the bass heavy Numbers-signed Kodiak, to name a few. Now, in collaboration with Sonos, we present the Evolution of Listening, a new mix tape competition giving you the chance to share your hottest 20 minute music selections with the world.

Helping us to unearth the biggest mixes are some of the world's most exciting DJs, including: Andy Votel, techno shapeshifter Actress, new wave, italo and house expert Veronica Vasicka and The 2 Bears' Raf Daddy.

Sonos are forging the way for at-home music systems and changing the way we listen. We're looking for mixes that reflect that sense of evolution, that show an ever-changing experience of music. Mixes can be from a specific time period or genre, but must meet this criteria if they're to be successful.

The winner will be invited to create a new mix to be featured as the Dazed mix of the month, be profiled online, plus have their home kitted out in £1000 worth of Sonos gear.

How to Enter:

Sonos and Dazed are interested in showcasing emerging artists, DJs and producers; whatever the genre.

• Deadline: Sunday 1st July
• Competition open globally
• Upload a mix of no more than 20 minutes on Mixcloud
• Title the mix Dazed X Sonos Evolution Of Music
• Tag your mix Dazed X Sonos. If you fail to tag it correctly, your mix may be missed
• Add your tracklist and also include it in the description
• Include one of the 5 options for the competition cover-art, provided below.

Judging:

• Entrants are judged on factors including (but not limited to) number of plays, favourites, positive feedback, track selection, originality and technical ability.
• Mixes must gain over 100 plays be considered for the shortlist.
• Entrants are encouraged to show an ability to promote themselves by the tools available through Mixcloud and other social media platforms.
• Dazed & Confused will shortlist the submissions to 10 mixes which will then be voted upon by the judges Andy Votel, Actress, Veronica Vasicka and Raf Daddy (2 Bears)
• The final decision will be made by Dazed & Confused

Prizes:

• Winner: £1,000 Sonos Audio Equipment
• Winner: Mix of the month on Dazed
• 4 runner-up prizes of Sonos WIreless Hifi Sytem (value £260)

Terms & Conditions

We will not tolerate spammy behavior on the Mixcloud platform. Do NOT post dozens of comments asking people to listen to your entry if you've never bothered to engage with them or their Cloudcasts. Do NOT favorite dozens of other entries that you haven't bothered listening to, just to get their attention. If we spot this behavior you will not win this competition.

Prize is non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative. The final decision lies with Dazed & Confused, Sonos and Mixcloud. Mixcloud is the promoter of this competition. Dazed & Confused and Sonos reserve the right to withdraw this competition at any time. Competition closes 1st July 2012 (23:59 GMT). Entrants must be 18 or over.
