The world’s No.1 club has partnered up with Mixcloud to offer budding DJs the opportunity of a lifetime to boost their careers. The “This is Sankeys” DJ Competition will see one lucky person become a resident at the club, amongst a host of other prizes.
The best eighteen mixes will be shortlisted and put through to the next round which will consist of heats at Sankeys itself. More information will be emailed to successful entrants at a later date.
Instructions:
- Upload a 20-30 minute mix of ANY form of electronic dance music to Mixcloud (Drum & Bass and Dubstep entries welcome)
- Title and Tag the mix: "This is Sankeys" DJ Competition
- Include the competition cover-art, found here
- Failure to use the correct tags, title, and artwork could see your mix disqualified
- Entrants will be expected to attend Sankeys on numerous occasions during the competition, so must be prepared and able to travel to Manchester frequently
Judging:
- Entrants will be judged on factors including (but not necessarily limited to) track selection, originality, creativity and technical ability
- Mixes must have a minimum of 50 plays by the deadline date in order to be considered for the shortlist
The Grand Prize:
- Become a Sankeys Resident for the next year
- A free, expenses paid, trip to Ibiza for one week during summer 2012
- A set at Sankeys Ibiza & on a Boat Party in Ibiza
- Free entry to all Sankeys events for the next year
2nd Place:
- A free, expenses paid, trip to Ibiza for one week during summer 2012
- A set on a Boat Party in Ibiza
- Free entry to all Sankeys events for the next year
3rd Place:
- Free entry to all Sankeys events for the next year
Important note - we will not tolerate spammy behavior on the Mixcloud platform. Do NOT fire out dozens of comments asking people to listen to your entry if you've never bothered to engage with them or their Cloudcasts. Do NOT favorite dozens of other entries that you haven't bothered listening to, just to get their attention. If we spot this behavior you will not be put forward to the final stage.
