With 64 events across the two islands this summer, Rocks’ domination of the live music scene in the Balearics shows no sign of slowing. Already confirmed for 2012 is the biggest breakthrough artist of the year, Ed Sheeran, and Northern Irish trio Two Door Cinema Club.

Although our history is born out of live music, electronic music plays a massive influence in what we are. The likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Fatboy Slim, Magnetic Man, DJ Fresh, Rusko & Kissy Sellout are just a few examples of DJ talent that has graced our famous stage in the past year alone and in 2012, we’re going big.

To celebrate the launch of our brand new weekly DJ event “We Are Rockstars” at Ibiza Rocks Hotel and Mallorca Rocks Hotel, we are offering a unique chance for two talented DJs to become our ‘Rocks Hotel Residents for the 2012 season, one in Ibiza and the other in Mallorca. This unmissable opportunity comes with full salary and accommodation for the summer and the chance to play to thousands of ‘Rocks revellers across the year. If that wasn’t enough, we’re also throwing in an intensive DJ Academy Course courtesy of our good friends at Ministry of Sound.

How to Enter:

As Ibiza Rocks & Mallorca Rocks we showcase a diverse range of musical tastes ranging from indie to rock all the way through to electronica and dubstep. Your mix should reflect a style of music that is representative of the brand and targeted to a large audience. Think Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and Doorly.

• Upload a mix of no more than 30 minutes to Mixcloud
• Title the mix “Ibiza Rocks DJ Competition”
• Tag your mix “Ibiza Rocks DJ Competition”. If you fail to tag it correctly, your mix may be missed
• Include the competition cover-art, found here

Judging:

• Entrants will be judged on factors including (but not limited to) number of plays, favorites, positive feedback, track selection, originality and technical ability
• Mixes must gain over 100 plays be considered for the shortlist. We are looking for DJs who show commitment.
• Entrants will be encouraged to show an ability to promote themselves by the tools available through Mixcloud and other social media platforms.
• Guest judges from Ibiza Rocks will assess your mix: Doorly, Nicola Bear + more.
• The final decision will be made by Ibiza Rocks, Mallorca Rocks & Mixcloud.

Terms & Conditions

We will not tolerate any spamming behaviour on the Mixcloud platform. Do NOT post dozens of comments asking people to listen to your entry if you’ve not engaged them on the Cloudcasts. DO NOT favourite dozens of other entries that you haven’t listened to just to get their attention. If we spot this behaviour your entry to the competition will be VOID.

Prize is non-transferrable and there is no cash alternative. The contract of the winner(s) will be discussed once the competition has closed.

The final decision lies with Ibiza Rocks, Mallorca Rocks and Mixcloud.

Entrants must be 18 years or older.
