It took us a while but we’ve finally snared the raging cad that is Andrew Weatherall and got him to whip us up a DJ mix. Predictably, it’s not half bad.

Despite having crafted some fine techno and electronica over the years, he also has a discerning ear for audio from a far wider spectrum, coupled with a penchant for times gone by. Thus, in his fascinating Clash mix we hear a variety of sounds that have caught Weatherall’s attention of late, including psychobilly act The Meteors, the surreal retro pop of Boots Walker and dreamy shoegaze from San Diegan fuzz-rock act Crocodiles

Weatherall is also, to put it mildly, a bit of a dub freak (as you’ll know if you’ve heard his ‘Vs the Boardroom’ series), reflected here via his interpretation of Steve Mason’s ‘Boys Outside’ and a fantastic dubbed-out remix of Trentemøller’s ‘Silver Surfer’.
