The early part of my musical life was dominated by Post Punk, well the part after Alvin and the Chipmunks, but that's another story. As usual a thread on djtechtools.com that I was in got off topic and someone mentioned Golden Brown by The Stranglers. I popped in and said I was putting together a playlist of post punk stuff and Golden Brown was on it. One thing lead to another, a couple of requests were made and I started to really dig around for the right songs that would go together in such a playlist.
It took me a few days to put it together as I only had about half of these songs, but I felt it really needed to encompass a lot of stuff so I did some digging and here's the result. Nearly two hours and 35 songs of what I think is a pretty good collection that represents several different styles that were popular in the late 70's and early 80's Post Punk, New Wave/Goth and 2-Tone Ska scenes.
