Here’s a selection of stringy things, mostly cello-focused (surprise!), which are beautiful, disturbing, illuminating, surprising, fun, and also downright silly. A couple are old favourites and some more recent discoveries – right now I’m loving the magic combination of cello and kora from Ballaké Sissoko & Vincent Segal – but I hope to have shown some of the versatility of sound and style available from combining wood, metal and horsehair.
