Our latest Bestimix is a dub-heavy head-ride jam packed with exclusive cuts created by two self-confessed "middle class white boys". Sly and Reggie first took to the streets of Dulwich on The Middle Class Sound System - a black Morris Minor Pickup & a pile of speakers - fusing old school reggae with 'white toasting', a mixture of spoken word & rant. Their debut album, Middle Class Dub Vol 1, pricked up the ever-attuned ears of local boy made good Rob da Bank, who invited them down to Camp Bestival & Bestival in summer 2011. Their 2nd album Sly and Reggie Vs The World (Middle Class Dub Vol 2) is set for release later in the year and is sure to catapult them into the dub-reggae stratosphere, or thereabouts. Between now & then, there's this: a 16-track dubwise session that contains a stack of exclusive Sly and Reggie soundclashes with the likes of Richard Burton, William Burroughs & the Arab Spring(!).
