ARKcast # 05 | Punkadelica by Mwëslee
In the late '70s and early '80s, the social and cultural movement known as punk was in its death throes, bogged down in a caricature of himself. It is when many tired of mohawkes, safety pins and false nihilism seek a formal but non-conceptual shift in his speech.
Now the youth anger and daily disappointment was expressed, rather than using guitar overdrives (also) but through synthesizers, primitive funk and low electronic pyrotechnics. The Do it Yourself aesthetics wasn't incompatible with style anymore.
Call it New Wave, Post Punk, Neue Deutsche Welle, Dark Wave, Flexi Pop, Synthpunk ... Chámalle X. The fact is that under this broad umbrella that Mwëslee tried to represent with this new Arkcast, has designed some of the most innovative music of the past 30 years. Ye boys and girls, this danceable, synthetic rock of those guys that you like so much nowadays has already invented loooong time ago .... sorry ... Uploaded 3 years ago -
