Akwaaba Music

Akwaaba is a window onto African music and pop culture. Part label, part blog, we feature music by local artists without any visibility outside of Africa - as is too often the case. We work with a very wide range of artists, regardless of musical style or genre: from acoustic and traditional sounds to contemporary fusions of urban and dance styles.

We try to do things right, so we split all profits 50-50, and we try to work as closely to the artist as possible. In other words half of the money we receive goes straight to Africa, helping our artists and allowing them to further their musical careers.
