I've always liked losing myself in a good instrumental. Not just music without words but tunes composed without any need for a vocalist.

There are so many great artists working without vocals, from the quirky neo-classical of The Penguin Cafe Orchestra through adrenaline pumping electronica, to the iconic Stax sound of Booker T and all points in-between. This collection only touches a few that I think are fine examples of the genre.

The idea for this collection came from wanting to share two of my favourite, under rated, instrumental bands, Pistol Jazz from Japan and Three Thrones from the UK. Go visit them now.
