Greg Wilson is the proverbial bona fide ‘legend’ of UK dance music, and since he began DJing in 1975, has been at the forefront of the genesis and evolution of the broad scene from the 70’s and 80’s, becoming renowned for introducing a whole new range of records and sounds from New York to the UK, becoming one of the first ‘resident’ DJ’s at The Hacienda in Manchester and overseeing revolutionary club nights at Wigan Pier and Legend (Manchester), and also becoming one of the first pioneers of mixing in the UK. After a hiatus, he returned in the mid- noughties to seamlessly assimilate himself back at the very heart of dance music once again. Through setting up electrofunkroots.co.uk, Greg preached the gospel that he felt provided the basis to all we know today. As a result he quickly became a globally sought DJ due to the acclaim of his mixes, rapturously received re-edits and productions. Greg has provided us with a fantastic exclusive mix from his recent gig at Fabric.
