We are already past the September equinox, the nights are getting cooler and the leaves are changing colors. In the meantime, I have been having a hard time choosing the theme for this month's podcast.
I decided in the end that nothing would be more fitting and seasonal than some luscious piano tunes. It may surprise some of you that piano sonically has always been my favourite instrument. While it is true that it has always been slightly over-rated, it still remains a peerless instrument for many who revere its fascinatingly beautiful, romantic and cinematic sound. Its history and evolution over the centuries also make it a rather unique instrument. Most of the music you are going to hear in this podcast consists of solo piano works but there are also some tunes accompanied by other instruments and/or electronics. So let's celebrate this glorious climatic change with some great piano sounds before all the leaves are gone.
