When I tried to upload this on Wednesday it failed, so slightly later than promised, here’s the first half of 29 Jan show. Kicking off with 20 seconds of Stewart Lee, who is turning into the go to guy for commentary on social affairs. With the palaver about hairy Richard Keys and Andy Gray’s comments, this seemed a good way to kick off even though I had to edit the 20 seconds I played. (shit is the missing word btw) Check out Football idiots on Stewart’s ‘Stand up Comedian’ album for full uncensored rant on Jimmy Hill’s outrageous defense of Ron Atkinson’s racism from a couple of years back. Brilliant. Also brand new tunes from Erland and The Carnival , Iron and Wine , Hannah Peel ,The Go! Team , Beat Connection, Malachai, Jonny (Norman Blake and Euros Child’s new project) ,Bright Eyes and R.E.M. A great Todd Rundgren cover from The Mummers and more from the soundtrack to Gainsbourg Vie Heroique with an incredible performance from Eric Elmosnino as Serge.
