“Our contribution to Electronic Explorations is a live recording of the last Sendai rehearsal in Brussels. This took place on April 6 2012. Our rehearsals are an extension of our production process: long jam sessions with improvisation as the driving concept. Since we don’t live in the same city we don’t rehearse very often. One of the side effects is that we go into every session with fresh ears – every time it’s an adventure.

For this recording we used a combination of snippets from existing tracks, live modular noodling plus live looping and effects processing. The whole thing was recorded in one go, Yves behind the modular synths and Peter behind the computer. We slightly altered the length to keep it within EE’s time boundaries. As for a track listing, this is a somewhat problematic issue since some of the passages are constructed entirely “in the moment”.
