I interviewed Pauline Black of The Selecter after their upbeat, upfront and highly impressive performance at Beat-Herder Festival 2011 in Lancashire.
Pauline spoke about the upcoming Selecter album 'Made In Britain' and the need for everyone to continue to fight the con-dem government and all their cuts. We spoke about multiculturalism and The Selecter's excellent new single 'Big In The Body Small In The Mind' an uplifting ska tune defacing racist/fascist movements that unfortunately still exist. Pauline also spoke about working with Rhoda Dakar and her appreciation of (original Slit) Viv Albertine's new projects. Pauline's autobiography 'Black By Design' has been reviewed as 'witty, gritty and compelling' and will be out on July 14th!!!
