This is a distilled mix of the playlist I listened to as I was worked on my fabric design pieces inspired by the Fabric 8 watercolour and pen & ink contest on Spoonflower.
Art and music is inextricably linked for me. All of my art projects have accompanying soundtracks. Listening to a track or playlist can instantly transport me back in time, to what I was working on then. It is probably for this reason that when the contest theme of "watercolour" was announced, I immediately began to think of Simon and Garfunkel, which is what I was listening to the last time I was working in watercolours, many years ago. I always thought my line art showed a George Dunning (animator of Yellow Submarine) influence, so that made me think of the ebullient joy of late 60's Beatles. Gentle, gorgeous harmonies, wistful nostalgia-that sounds to me like watercolour, as well as summery 60's pop. Here is my contest entry, if you'd like to have a look: http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/111...Uploaded 1 year ago - Featuring tracks by Donovan, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Buffy Sainte-Marie Report this Cloudcast | ![]() |
