Dene "O.nes" Kadej-Ibarra is a Dj/Musician/ Record Collector from Toronto, Canada. His passion for music has taken him abroad in search of records, and his love of tropical rhythms, as well as a short vacation with friends brought him back to music filled Cuba.
"Cuba's the kind of place where there's a lot of music everywhere you look, yet only a select few know the history of where it came from. You get your records inspected at customs due to curiosity and lack on knowledge rather than safety concerns." Says Dene "Most Cuban records didnt get printed with recording dates until the 80's so its hard to know what year they're from. This mix consists mainly of the Funk inspired "Son" that took Cuba by Storm in and around the 70's.
