Past Life Regression
Volume 1 begins with dueling guitars by M. Ward followed by a track from the reissued album Young Team by Mogwai. A new one from Agnes Obel and then a song from the soundtrack to Where The Wild Things Are by Karen O & the Kids. Next we find the japanese duo Expe. Nishi and a nice tune from The Album Leaf, which brings us into a little bit of beat chemistry with tracks from Four Tet and Kabutogani. Past lives come into perspective while listening to the the varied sections of the Port-Royal selection which leads us to a playful piece by Anthony Kelly & David Stalling. We hear Japancakes in this collage with a sublime cover of My bloody Valentine which leads nicely into a minimilistic track by do make say think. Next up we hear LA's only honest songwriter, Virginia Reed, just in time for our subconscious to reach full regression as Tortoise fades away on the record player.
