I'm starting off February right here at Flea Market Funk with another all 45 mix. Inspired by double agents and low brow movie soundtracks I've assembled 16 original Funk sides to start your weekend off right with. There are a few new sides I just acquired along with a bunch of stuff I have been sitting on until the right moment. The mix has some hard hitting stuff courtesy of my man Kenny Dope (also shout out to Mike Curtis on that one) over at Kay Dee, some covers from Breakestra doing Leroy and the Drivers and Pucho & the Latin Soul Brothers taking on Curtis Mayfield, as well tunes from Larry Williams, Freddie Terrell, Roy Roberts via Cultures of Soul, a fairly new Colemine Records 45 out of Ohio, a belter from Cindy & The Playmates, a Cal Roberts side from Florida (funky!), Alvin Cash with another Bunky's Pick, Pigmeat Markham, and the Vern Blair Debate courtesy of Jazzman (who saved me a few hundred by reissuing the A side of this). Done all live and in one take. Enjoy!
