From the Rubberfunk Mix Vaults, a quick and dirty two-turntables mix from 2001, when I had just enjoyed the excitement of having my first 12" single released!
Most of these tracks would still see an outing in my record bag now, and some, like the James Brown track and Stevie's great version of 'Light My Fire', I'd been playing since the early nineties. Others, like The Highlighters tune were relatively unknown until labels like Jazzman, Now Again and Light In The Attic went into overdrive in the early noughties, rediscovering countless lesser-known acts and releases, and re-issuing them for us all to enjoy!
This year it's 20 years since I started DJing, so I'll be uploading as many mixes of mine as I can find from the last 2 decades to share with everyone here on Mixcloud - stay tuned, and hope you enjoy! :) Uploaded 3 months ago -
