DJ Lyf began his musical journey in the late 70's listening to his mothers record collection and fixing her analog tapes back to life [Lyf]. Soon after started to experiment making his own tracks. While in Chicago received his first exposure to House music from his family in the mid 1980's. Lyf then began travelling to the East Coast of the United States and while in New Jersey was inspired by family members who were expert Dj's spinning an eclectic array of music including Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, R&B, Early House, Reggae Roots, Jazz, Blues, 70's Dance Music, Afro Beat, and African American Classics coupled with a philosophy of Unity, Creative Leisure, and Freedom.Spending past ten years honing his skills in Venice, CA.
