Dispatj’s current sounds were initially influenced by Zapp & Roger and 80s electro/hip hop and pop artists including Duran Duran, Bronski Beat, Hall and Oates and The Pet Shop Boys.

More modern influences include Com Truise for his airy synthwave experience, Chromeo for their synth/funk sound and catchy vocals, Onra for his future funk sound and 2-step beats, as well as Dam Funk for his soulful electronica, which Dispatj gives you a taste of in his beats.

Dispatj started out making psy-trance before moving to electro and house. His beats have now evolved into funk, drawing from 80s and trans genre electronica. He’s played at many electronic, progressive house, psy-house and minimal-tech gigs, alongside the likes of Onra, James Hunter, Fletcher Munson, Digital Divide and WolfWolf.
