Born on the Soxside of Chicago, dr. Mario grew up listening to music played by his grandmother& mother while doing homework/cleaning. They played mostly soul, disco & blues music. Mario has been collecting music and training his DJ ear since grade school. Mario began djing and learned the basics while hanging out with DJ Christian Armand. It was during this time Mario decided to take his art to the next level by purchasing his own equipment. From there dr. Mario began swapping ideas and techniques with other DJs and producers on how to rock the dancefloor. DJ dr. Mario has been described by peers, dancers, & industry professionals as one of the best around. He has shared the turntables with top Chicago DJs such as Moppy, 331/3, JDLP, & MtM to name a few. He has held residencies both in Chicago & St. Louis. In most of his mixes you will find that Mario has the ability to play all genres with a heavy emphasis towards house/disco but rest assured that no genre is safe
