2011 was a high energy year for music, and one that thrust underground bass music in all its forms even further into the bright lights of the mainstream.
Emerging talents continued to utilize the powers of the internet to even further degrees (the ‘tumblr ‘n’ b’ of The Weeknd), and huge collaborations became the order of the day. With the playing field of music consumption changing on a daily basis, it has also been incredible to see the increased importance of labels as a brand identity (here’s looking at you, Butterz). In honour of 2011, then, we have compiled a hefty mix aimed straight for the dancefloor; A 30 minute showcase of our favourite artists, tracks and labels from the past year. From emerging talent like Koreless, Dismantle and Champion, to the sterling return of veterans such as Wiley and Wookie (Exemen) and numerous collaborations between the biggest players in the game.
